SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) is the modern state-of-the-art solution for high performance warehouse logistics - and SALT Solutions is your experienced implementation partner!
We offer vast experience as an SAP Validated Expertise Partner SCM / Germany and ramp-up partner for the EWM implementation. We have cooperated on SAP EWM development review boards and thus contributed significantly with SAP to ensure the quality of the software.
Range of Applications
With EWM, SAP has created an extensive, decentralized warehouse management system. In principle, EWM can not only be used for configuration and controlling of logistics centers with high-throughput (multi-channel warehousing), due to the modular system design it can also be implemented as a warehouse management software for mid-sized warehouses with reduced complexity as a centralized or decentralized installation.
As the most powerful warehouse management software, SAP EWM offers investment protection, a high degree of standardization and low error and failure rates.
Implementation and Support
As an experienced partner, SALT Solutions accompanies you in creating feasibility studies and operational analyses for making a system decision and complete planning and implementation of your EWM project.
In addition, we also assist you with the necessary certifications and assume after the installation a 24/7 maintenance in first-, second- or third-tier support upon request.
References and showroom
SALT Solutions has implemented the release 7.0 of EWM including MFS components for controlling automatic high-rack warehouses at customer sites. Customers can run ‘live’ through various EWM scenarios with our experts in our new EWM showroom in Würzburg.
SALT Solutions has been validated several times by Fraunhofer IML for the SAP EWM solution.

Due to the cross-industrial mindset, SAP EWM can be understood as a framework in many parts in its standard functionality. Therefore, SALT Solutions provides a number of industry-specific EWM configurations as templates. We configure your logistics processes in EWM by customizing and thereby always use the standard.
Use of Standard Tools
In order to implement company-specific requirements easily in EWM, we use EWM tools such as Post Processing Framework (PPF) or Easy Graphics Framework (EGF). Special logistical processes, such as an illustration of an order picking trolley or a multiple-depth storage approach are delivered by us as fully integrated SALT Add-Ons for SAP EWM.
Template and Roll-Outs
Based on many years of experience, we support you not only at creating the EWM template, but also by implementing global roll-outs.
Project Process
A SAP EWM-Project will be processed in cooperation with the customer according to the ASAP-Roadmap (Accelerated SAP) and the certified SAP-project mode.
Included are:
When the standard is insufficient, we avail ourselves of standard functions using only predefined SAP starting points (Business Add-Ins - BAdIs) to display your company specific requirements in form of add-ons, guaranteeing a full upgradeability.
SALT Add-Ons supplement the standard and represent upgradable software modules based on the SAP Workbench, which have proven themselves every day in the life of our customers.
SALT Add-Ons for SAP (excerpt):
SAP LES/TRM
Until 2006, SAP offered fully integrated Logistics Execution Systems to control logistic processes in ERP (SAP LES). Task and Resource Management (TRM) was an integrated component in LES for controlling operational logistics and material flow.
SAP EWM/MFS
With EWM, SAP provides a powerful alternative to SAP LES. EWM can be connected both locally as an SAP SCM component as well as centrally as an ERP add-on.
Basically, SAP EWM is the solution to be selected when there is a highly complex warehouse with flexible processes and extensive monitoring. But even with manual or simple storage, the use of SAP EWM is definitely worthwhile.
SAP EWM is conceived across industries equally for cross-industry and spare parts inventory, finished goods warehouse or multi-client storage facility use.
For less complex processes, the standard component SAP LES including TRM will still be available in the future.
Use and feasibility studies
In order to provide a sound basis for an optimal system choice, we offer in-advance-feasibility studies of a project and / or operation analyses, to recommend software which will optimally control your logistics processes.
This feasibility study offers a preview of how well your process requirements will be covered by SAP LES/TRM and SAP EWM and what influence your process requirements will have on the performance prior to a system decision.
