Victor Reinz (Neu-Ulm) has expanded its storage capacities and authorized SALT Solutions to implement SAP LES for the controlling of a warehouse.
The fully automated storage feed area of the eight-aisle warehouse with a total of six-picking positions, storing and outsourcing lines, sorting and buffer areas were delivered by Hörmann Logistik GmbH in Munich.
Victor Reinz develops and manufactures product solutions in the areas of sealing, shielding and valve cover systems for the automotive industry, service parts for the spare-parts market, sealants and specialty gaskets for industrial applications and components for fuel cells.
The company doubled its capacities with a semi-automatic pallet storage and thereby created space for products which are specifically designated for spare parts and workshop supplies. Despite the optimization, the existing warehouse utilizing 98 percent capacity did not offer sufficient flexibility. The new warehouse is controlled by a central SAP LES.
SALT Solutions implemented pick and pack picking control according to packaging regulations as well as a cross-docking. SAP TRM was implemented for the route-optimized forklift control in the manual areas. In addition, the IT service provider links the automatic conveyance technology to TRM and to the material flow control.
"Despite the difficult economic situation, we are investing to make us fit for the future," comments project leader Jürgen Adä. Today, it is important to properly serve clients.
With this project, Victor Reinz and SALT Solutions are continuing many years of IT partnership. For 10 years, SALT Add-Ons for SAP have been controlling the fully automatic high-rack warehouse and have been integrating the logistics processes into an SAP ERP. Moreover, SALT Solutions‘ team of certified support experts supervises and further develops Victor Reinz’s IT systems .
