Introduction of an SAP-Based Shipping Solution with CEP Connection

Kneipp's name stands not only for a healthy and holistic lifestyle, but also for scientific products based on nature. Kneipp-Werke GmbH & Co KG located in Würzburg is an internationally operating company, which produces and sells high-quality medicines and dietary supplements as well as body-care and bath products.

The Kneipp group reorganized their distribution and implemented SAP LES as the new warehouse management system in order to optimally operate all distribution channels. The distribution process via several couriers, such as DHL and DPD, as well as freight forwarders required extensive manual labor: Although the older scale system could transfer the SAP distribution data and print these on labels, the templates for the parcel service were out-dated.

Salt Solutions developed a CEP-solution based on existing ABAP modules from the SALT mail-order business. This CEP-solution is highly integrated and cooperates with the SAP modules EWM, SD, TM and WM without the use of interfaces. Separate subsystems of the CEP service and external tools for the transportation development are no longer required.
