Integrated Warehouse Logistics on the SAP Platform

The A. Raymond Group is one of the world's leading businesses in   the fastening area. The family business provides metal and plastic clips, quick couplers and adhesive compounds for the automobile production, fasteners for the industry and equipment for handicraft professionals.

A. Raymond optimized the logistics within the context of the SAP-implementation for operational processes in order to adjust to a correct delivery. The challenge was defined by the replacement of the old warehouse management and the integration of more than 20 picking stations and a complex subordinate control.

Today, the family uses an SAP-based warehouse management system from SALT Solutions.  The SALT-Solution enhancement converted Raymond’s  SAP system to a high-performance warehouse system. Raymond‘s special feature: Products are managed as bulk material in the warehouse. Several thousand fasteners are combined in one storage bin and stored in a multi-aisles, fully automatical high rack storage area. From there, they are transported to picking stations, packed into customer owned containers and delivered to the assembly lines of automobile companies.
