As part of its expansion, fashion group Gerry Weber places emphasis on rapid development and continuous support of its logistics and store processes with IT systems. RFID wireless technology promises efficiencies throughout the entire supply chain. Fast and complete article detection of incoming goods and inventory increase merchandise and planning quality.
Gerry Weber decided to test RFID extensively in order to assess the potential in real operation. Pilot operation with alexa RFID showed a 20 percent increase in acceleration of inventory and receipt of goods. The connection of alexa RFID to the merchandise management system uses an RFID connector developed and implemented by SALT Solutions.
Since 2011, Gerry Weber uses alexa RFID in all its stores to profit from the benefits of this contactless technology. The investments for this will be amortized within two years.
